Our Origins
-
In Te Reo Māori, Pakari means strength or resilience. Inspired by New Zealand’s holistic mental health model, Pakari was founded on the belief that recovery, living a meaningful and satisfying life is possible for everyone.
-
We honour the model of Te Whare Tapa Whā — the house of four walls, where wellbeing includes caring for the mind, body, spirit and community.
-
At Pakari, we walk alongside people on their mental health journey. Our support nurtures the whole person, grounded in respect, compassion and connection.
Our co-founder, Jason, trained in Aotearoa’s mental health system and today, Pakari brings together a proven framework with person centred care to support individuals, business and communities alike. -
Having called Boronia home for over a decade, Jason and Bri’s roots here run deep. Jason has long been connected to the local community through the Eastern Raptors social rugby club and has played with Vic Masters Rugby for the past 13 years. You can read more about Jason’s story on our Team Profile page.
Bri brings a strong foundation in corporate finance, combined with a heart for care and psychosocial governance. Her five years as a volunteer Ambulance Officer in New Zealand shaped her deep appreciation for compassion, which continues to guide our values and approach to mental health.
